Massacre in Nicaragua - The Trailer

In 11 March 2009, some of the Bolt team riders, were called to Iguana Ranch in Playa Colorado to unveil on of the most intriguing mysteries in the world surf history. Rumors in Europe made us believe that Playa Colorado (named after the river that forms the bank called Rio Colorado) is probably one of the best beach breaks in Central America, more precisely in Nicaragua.

Much has been said and speculated, but till now you didn't have any real proof about these rumors.

David Raimundo, Miguel Ximenez, Pumas and Maria Abecasis were the detectives in charge to clarify what is true and what is myth.

We remind you that they only had 10 days of investigation, but they brought us a lot of insights.

The secrets of a monster wave

When we think about the technology progress, and all the information we can get nowadays, it is quiet hard to imagine new features, specially new info on such an obvious element like a wave.

This video is amazing, it makes us believe we still have a lot to learn in the wave formation knowledge and therefore surf.

A huge wave has been filmed from beneath the surface, revealing features never before captured on camera. The remarkable video, which will be shown as part of the BBC Natural History Unit's new series South Pacific, was filmed in super slow motion using a high-definition camera.
It reveals the hidden power of a four-metre-tall monster barrel wave. It also shows the first images of underwater spiralling vortices created by the wave's action. The wave was filmed off the coast of Pohnpei in the Caroline Islands, part of the Federated State of Micronesia.
