It happened at the Lightning Bolt booth, as the gathering of remarkable and true legends of the history of world surf, coming from different parts of the world, took over the mood and involved all surf fans and visitors.

The feedback on the surfboards and apparel collection couldn’t be better. Everyone was really excited to see how the Lightning Bolt crew went back to the roots, taking aboard the original surf brand character and distinction and interpreting it smoothly into something different and fresh.
We are happy to say that Lightning Bolt is offering an alternative for a new feeling of nostalgic satisfaction that the surf community is warmly welcoming.

Do you see a chicken carefully watching the swell? She’s not looking at them. She’s thinking if she’s surfing with a 6’2’’ or a 6’6’’. In Hawaii, even chickens go to the beach.

The Collapsible surfboard revolution, by Nicholas Notara

Maybe Nicholas Notara, the designer that conceived this idea is strongly targeting the Japanese consumers. They are always looking for ideas to save room. Or it might be a great product to target those who ride a bike to go to beach.
Made from carbon-fiber, designed carefully to maintain the balance and weight of its traditional counterpart, and with the help of 2 pins and a quick release level can halve in size.
After the collapsible bikes and even all types of furniture, now the surfers have their collapsible surfboard option, although it’s not avaible
Maybe one day, Lego will start to make surfboards. Let’s hope not.

Between The Lines - the true story of surfers during the vietnam war

Narrated by acclaimed writer and director JOHN MILIUS (Apocalypse Now-Big Wednesday), BETWEEN THE LINES explores the Vietnam War through the prism of the surfing sub-culture. This documentary film offers unique insight into the dramatic effect that the Vietnam War and draft had on young American men who rode waves.

BETWEEN THE LINES delves into the lives of two surfers who chose opposite paths, Pat Farley and Brant Page. Pat Farley, a heavy combat vet, volunteered for service in Vietnam and was discharged with a full psychiatric pension. Conversely, Brant Page evaded the draft and fled to the surf rich Hawaiian Islands where he was unceasingly pursued and eventually arrested by the FBI.

While following the lives of these two surfers the film chronicles the impact of the Vietnam War on the surfing lifestyle. From the peaceful shores of Hawaii to the canopy jungles of Vietnam, BETWEEN THE LINES excavates the surfing cultures response to an extraordinary circumstance.

The DVD is now available at XTREMEVIDEO
